I've been on a couple of these courses. It was slightly cheaper than the fine, and accrued no points. Other than that, they were a waste of my time. I don't deliberately go over the limit, I'm just occasionally distracted by 'er chattering. The people they should be targeting are the idiots who think speed limits don't apply to 'good' drivers like them. Instead, they catch people who slip over the limit by a few mph. It makes no sense to me. It's just a money-making scam.
I’ve done two speed awareness courses, it’s not that you don’t learn anything, just it’s so easy to get caught doing 34 in a 30 limit, not that’s that an excuse , I now have my sat nav on all the time to ‘remind’ me of cameras , so I’ve learnt something! Don’t get caught! I’m an old granny too! Driving an old banger, Not exactly a boy racer
I prefer to say that more than two thirds of people who do speed awareness courses do not reoffend. Unfortunately, the balance is made up of idiots who don’t respect either their fellow citizens or the law.
They should employ people with red flags to walk in front of cars in 20mph zones. A good way to reduce the unemployment figures.

A 66% success rate is very good for a one-off session. Keep them rolling I say!

I did one of these courses about 8 years ago. It definitely changed the way I drive for the better.
